Mud Season
This work was created in the Spring of 2024 at the Vermont Studio Center, which was a return to clay and words after a long dormancy. It is my Ode to Mud Season—a time of reawakening, uncontainable mess, volatile weather, and freezes and thaws that belie the slow and steady progression toward spring. Though perhaps the “cruelest month,” April is also National Poetry Month, a fitting time to celebrate words, mud and the ephemerals.
Registry of Ephemerals is a cataloging in clay of the thawing of the earth and the first blooms of spring alongside fleeting moments of my daily explorations.
